Step By Step [Keep In Step With God] Devotions Day 3
Never Walking Alone
Devotional
One of the most comforting truths about following God is that we never step into the unknown alone. Every step forward, no matter how uncertain it feels to us, is a step into territory that God has already prepared. He goes before us, making a way where there seems to be no way. Imagine having a guide who has already walked every path you'll ever take. This guide knows every obstacle, every beautiful vista, every challenging climb, and every restful valley. That's exactly what we have in God. He doesn't send us ahead and hope we figure it out; He leads the way and invites us to follow. This truth transforms how we view uncertainty. Instead of seeing unknown territory as threatening, we can see it as an adventure with the most trustworthy guide imaginable. When God calls us to take a step that feels scary or unclear, we can move forward with confidence because we know He's already there. Sometimes we hesitate to obey God because we can't see the full picture. We want to know the entire plan before we take the first step. But God's guidance often comes one step at a time. He provides just enough light for the next step, trusting us to walk by faith rather than by sight. Today, if you're facing a decision or a step that feels uncertain, remember that God has gone before you. He's not asking you to figure it out on your own or to walk into danger unprepared. He's inviting you to trust His leadership and follow His guidance, knowing that every step with Him is a step in the right direction.
Bible Verse
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you. - Deuteronomy 31:8
Reflection Question
What step is God asking you to take that feels uncertain, and how does knowing He has gone before you change your perspective on moving forward?
Quote
When we take a step towards God, we are never stepping into the unknown alone.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my guide and going before me in every situation. When I face uncertainty or fear about the future, help me remember that You have already prepared the way. Give me courage to follow Your leading, trusting that You will never leave me to walk alone. Amen.
