God Makes All Things New [A New Season] Devotions Day 5
Transformed from the Inside Out
Devotional
Real change doesn't happen by trying harder to look different on the outside, it happens when God transforms us from the inside out. This is the beautiful culmination of everything God has been doing through His new covenant, His fresh approaches, and even our wilderness seasons. God doesn't want us to just appear transformed; He wants us to actually be transformed into something new. Through a relationship with Jesus, He changes us into His likeness each day. As we pursue Jesus, we become more and more like Him, not through our own effort, but through His transformative power working within us. This internal transformation is what makes all the difference. It's the new heart that God promised to give us, tender and responsive instead of stony and stubborn. It's the Holy Spirit living within us, moving us to follow God's ways not out of obligation, but out of love. Salvation isn't the end of the story; it's the beginning of a new life. His mercies are new every morning as we work out our salvation through His grace. Every day brings fresh opportunities to be shaped more into His image, to respond more like Him, to love more like Him. This is why God does new things in our lives, not just to change our circumstances, but to change us. The wilderness seasons, the fresh approaches, the new wineskins... they're all part of His beautiful plan to transform us from the inside out. As you step into whatever new season God has for you, remember that the greatest transformation isn't in what happens around you, but in what happens within you. God is making you new, one day at a time.
Bible Verse
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations. - Ezekiel 36:26-27
Reflection Question
How are you seeing God transform you from the inside out, and what areas of your heart still need His tender touch to become more like Jesus?
Quote
God wants us to be transformed into something, not just look like something from the outside without being changed on the inside.
Prayer
Father, thank You for not just wanting to change how I look on the outside, but for transforming me from the inside out. Continue Your work in my heart, making me more like Jesus each day. Help me cooperate with Your Spirit as You shape me into Your likeness through Your grace and love. Amen.
