Step By Step [Small Steps And Leaps Of Faith] Devotions Day 5

Your Daily Jordan

Devotional
The Jordan River crossing wasn't a one-time event that solved all of the Israelites' problems forever. It was the beginning of a new chapter that would require daily choices to trust God. Once they crossed over, they still had to face giants in the land, conquer cities, and learn to live as God's people in their new home. This is the reality of faith... it's not a single decision we make once and then coast on for the rest of our lives. Taking a step of faith is a daily choice to follow God, to trust His promises, and to move forward even when we can't see the full picture. Each of us has our own Jordan River. Maybe it's a broken relationship that needs healing, a health challenge that requires courage, or a calling to serve that feels beyond your abilities. Maybe it's forgiving someone who hurt you deeply, or stepping into a leadership role you don't feel qualified for. Whatever your Jordan River is, God is asking the same question He asked the Israelites: "Are you willing to take a step toward the promises I have laid before you?" The beautiful truth is that every time we choose to trust God and take that next step, we experience His faithfulness in new ways. Each act of obedience builds our confidence for the next challenge. Each time we see God come through, it becomes easier to trust Him the next time. So what's your Jordan River today? Where is God calling you to step forward in faith? Remember, He's not asking you to take a giant leap... just the next step He shows you.

Bible Verse
Meanwhile, the priests who were carrying the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant stood on dry ground in the middle of the riverbed as the people passed by. They waited there until the whole nation of Israel had crossed the Jordan on dry ground. - Joshua 3:17

Reflection Question
What is your current Jordan River, and what would it look like to take one small step of faith toward God's promises today?

Quote
Taking a step of faith is not a one time event. It's not a I do this once and then it's good for the rest of my life. It is a daily choice to follow God.

Prayer
Father, help me to see that following You is a daily choice, not a one-time decision. Show me the next step You want me to take, and give me the courage to move forward in faith, trusting in Your faithfulness. Amen.
