Deeper Still [See God] Devotions Day 1

Going Deeper with God

Devotional
When Jesus invited Simon to push his boat into deeper waters, it wasn't just about catching fish... it was an invitation into a deeper relationship. Many of us are comfortable staying in the shallow waters of faith, where we can still touch the bottom and feel in control. But God is calling us to venture beyond our comfort zones into the depths of His love and purpose for our lives. Just like Simon, we might hesitate. The deeper waters seem uncertain, even risky. Yet it's in these deeper places where we discover God's miraculous provision and power. When we're willing to trust Him beyond what we can see or understand, we position ourselves for transformation that goes far beyond our expectations. God isn't content with us simply knowing about Him from a distance. He wants an intimate, life-changing relationship where His presence becomes the guiding force in every decision we make. This requires courage to leave behind the familiar and step into the unknown with Him.

Bible Verse
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.” “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” - Luke 5:4-5

Reflection Question
What 'shallow waters' in your spiritual life might God be calling you to leave behind as you go deeper with Him?

Quote
Simon, are you willing to go deeper? I'm inviting you to go deeper here.

Prayer
Lord, give me the courage to trust You in the deeper waters of faith. Help me move beyond surface-level Christianity into the transformative relationship You desire with me.
