Name Above All Names [Palm Sunday] Devotions Day 4
Glory Dressed in Humility
Devotional
God's greatest acts often come wrapped in the most unexpected packages. A manger in Bethlehem, a towel washing dirty feet, a wooden cross on a hill... these don't look like glory to our human eyes, yet they represent the most powerful moments in history. Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey reminds us that divine glory often wears the clothes of humility. We live in a culture that equates success with visibility, power with position, and worth with wealth. But Jesus shows us that true greatness looks different in God's kingdom. The King of kings chose to be born in a stable, work as a carpenter, and ride a donkey. He demonstrated that real leadership serves others rather than demanding service. When we embrace humility, we're not diminishing ourselves... we're aligning with the very character of God. Humility isn't thinking less of yourself; it's thinking of yourself less. It's recognizing that your worth doesn't come from what others think of you, but from what God thinks of you. And He thinks you're worth dying for. Today, look for God's glory in the humble moments, the quiet acts of service, the gentle responses to difficult people. That's where His kingdom is most clearly seen.
Bible Verse
The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful to see. - Psalm 118:22-23
Reflection Question
Where might God be showing His glory through humble circumstances in your life right now?
Quote
A king arriving on a donkey reminds us that God's greatest acts are often plain and unexpected. A manger, a towel, a wooden cross. Glory is often dressed in humility.
Prayer
Father, help me recognize Your glory in humble places and give me the courage to embrace humility as strength, not weakness.
