Deeper Still [God's Presence] Devotions Day 1
Making Time for What Matters Most
Devotional
Have you ever noticed how you always find time for the things you truly want to do? Whether it's scrolling through social media, watching your favorite show, or spending time with someone special, we naturally prioritize what we value most. The same principle applies to our relationship with God. In our fast-paced world of endless notifications and demanding schedules, it's easy to push God to the margins of our lives. We tell ourselves we'll spend time with Him "when things slow down" or "after this busy season." But deep down, we know that seasons of busyness never really end... they just change form. The truth is, we make time for what we truly desire. If we're struggling to find time for God, perhaps the issue isn't our schedule but our heart's priorities. Just like any meaningful relationship, our connection with God requires intentional time and attention. Think about your closest relationships. They didn't develop overnight or through occasional interactions. They grew through consistent, quality time spent together. The same is true with God. He's not looking for perfection or elaborate gestures... He simply wants your presence. Today, consider what your daily choices reveal about your priorities. Are you making time for the One who matters most? Remember, God isn't competing for a slot in your busy schedule; He's inviting you into a relationship that will transform every other area of your life.
Bible Verse
Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. - 1 Chronicles 16:11
Reflection Question
What does your current schedule reveal about what you truly value, and what small step could you take today to prioritize time with God?
Quote
You will always make time for the things that you want to do. We need to cultivate the desire to have time with God.
Prayer
Lord, help me examine my heart and priorities honestly. Create in me a genuine desire to spend time with You, not out of obligation but out of love. Show me how to make space for You in my daily life. Amen.
