Deeper Still [Go With God] Devotions Day 1

The Daily Yes

Devotional
When Peter first met Jesus, he made a life-changing decision to follow Him. But that single moment was just the beginning. Every morning, Peter had to choose again... would he continue following Jesus even when the crowds turned away? Even when the path led to uncertainty? Your faith journey mirrors Peter's experience. The moment you accepted Christ was beautiful and transformative, but it was only the starting line. True discipleship unfolds in the countless small decisions you make each day... choosing forgiveness over bitterness, hope over despair, love over indifference. Some days, following Jesus feels natural and joyful. Other days, it requires tremendous courage when results seem slow or the way forward isn't clear. But here's the beautiful truth: every daily 'yes' to Jesus deepens your relationship with Him and shapes you more into His likeness. Think about the areas of your life where you're tempted to take shortcuts or compromise. These are the very places where your daily commitment to Christ matters most. Each choice to follow Him, even in small moments, builds spiritual muscle and prepares you for greater purposes ahead.

Bible Verse
For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him. His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed. Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus. - Luke 5:9-11

Reflection Question
What is one area of your life where you need to say 'yes' to Jesus today, even though the outcome isn't guaranteed?

Quote
Following Jesus is not about making one single bold choice. It starts with a single bold choice. Yes, Lord, I accept you as my Lord and Savior. But it's not about just making that one bold choice. It's proven by following Him day after day. Even when results are slow, even when the path feels costly, even when the way ahead isn't clear.

Prayer
Lord, help me to follow You faithfully each day, not just in the big moments but in the small, everyday choices. Give me courage to trust You even when I can't see the full picture ahead.
