Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover

We live in a world obsessed with appearances. From social media profiles to first impressions, we constantly evaluate people and situations based on what we see on the surface. But what if our expectations are completely wrong? The Jewish leaders had clear expectations about their coming Messiah. They had studied the scriptures, knew the prophecies, yet when Jesus arrived, they missed Him entirely. Why? Because His appearance didn't match their expectations. Sometimes God's greatest works come in the most unexpected packages. A baby in a manger, a carpenter from Nazareth, a King on a donkey... none of these fit our human understanding of power and glory. Today, we might be missing God's work in our lives simply because it doesn't look like what we expected. Perhaps that difficult season is actually God preparing you for something greater. Maybe that humble opportunity is your pathway to purpose. When we judge by appearances alone, we risk missing the very thing God is doing right in front of us.

Prayer
Lord, help me see beyond appearances and recognize Your hand at work in unexpected ways. Open my heart to receive what You have for me, even when it doesn't match my expectations.
