More Than Enough [God's Calling] Devotions Day 5

God Equips Those He Calls

Devotional
By the end of Gideon's story, the fearful man hiding in a winepress had become the leader who delivered Israel from oppression. What changed? Not Gideon's natural abilities or his circumstances... what changed was his willingness to trust God and take steps of obedience. This transformation reveals a fundamental truth: God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. You may look at your current abilities and feel inadequate for what you sense God calling you to do. That's actually the perfect starting point. God's power is made perfect in weakness. He's not asking you to be perfect and strong before you answer His call. He's asking you to be obedient and let His power do the work through you. When you step out in faith, God provides what you need for each stage of the journey. He gives wisdom when you need direction, strength when you feel weak, and courage when you face opposition. The same God who transformed a fearful Gideon into a mighty deliverer wants to work in and through your life today. Your past doesn't define your future. Your current limitations don't limit God's power. Your calling is not contingent on your abilities but on God's faithfulness. Trust Him to equip you as you step forward in obedience to His call on your life.

Bible Verse
O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!” The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8 And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” - Jeremiah 1:6-8

Reflection Question
What would you attempt for God if you truly believed He would equip you with everything you need to fulfill His calling on your life?

Quote
God equips those he calls.

Prayer
Lord, I surrender my fears and inadequacies to You. Help me trust that You will equip me for whatever You're calling me to do. Transform my weaknesses into opportunities for Your strength to be displayed. Amen.
