The Flame That Forms Us [Purifying] Devotions Day 3

Healing Through Surrender

Devotional
Healing begins when we stop feeding what is hurting us and start surrendering to God. Our flesh, which seeks comfort and avoids pain, is not our friend. It is where unhealed pain becomes unholy patterns. To experience true healing, we must crucify our flesh and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. Denying ourselves is not about losing our identity but finding our true identity in Christ. It is about losing the version of our sin nature that was never God's design. Surrendering to God is not a sign of weakness but a step towards healing and restoration. "Healing starts when you stop feeding what is hurting you, when you stop coddling the flesh and start crucifying it."

Bible Verse
Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me." - Mark 8:34

Reflection Question
What areas of your life do you need to surrender to God for healing?

Quote
Your flesh is not your friend. It does not care about your pursuit of Jesus. It does not care about your calling. It only cares about your comforts. Your flesh is where unhealed pain becomes unholy patterns.

Prayer
Lord, help me to stop feeding what is hurting me and to surrender my life to You. Lead me by Your Holy Spirit and heal the unholy patterns in my life. Amen.
