I Am [The Gate For The Sheep] Devotions Day 3

The Shepherd's Guidance

Devotional
When we're faced with important decisions or difficult circumstances, we often seek guidance. But where we turn for that guidance makes all the difference. The world offers countless advisors, but only one perfect Guide. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, doesn't just point the way—He is the way. He doesn't merely offer advice—He offers Himself. Unlike people who are quick to share their opinions and may lead us astray, Jesus never gives bad advice. His guidance is perfect because He sees the complete picture of our lives and loves us perfectly. The Bible instructs us to trust the Lord completely rather than relying on our own understanding. This requires humility—acknowledging that our perspective is limited and our wisdom is flawed. When we seek God's will in everything we do, He promises to show us which path to take. Following the Shepherd's guidance means surrendering our plans and preferences to His better way. It means listening for His voice through prayer, Scripture, and the counsel of godly people. It means waiting patiently when the path isn't clear and moving forward confidently when He leads. Today, bring your decisions, big and small, to the Shepherd. Ask for His guidance, and then listen carefully for His response.

Bible Verse
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.- Proverbs 3:5-6

Reflection Question
What decision are you currently facing that you need to surrender completely to the Shepherd's guidance rather than relying on your own understanding?

Quote
"I have never, ever once in my years of, in my walk with Jesus, heard anyone say that Jesus ever gave them bad advice. Never heard it in a million years."

Prayer
Good Shepherd, I surrender my plans to You today. When I'm tempted to lean on my own understanding, remind me of Your perfect wisdom. Thank You for Your promise to direct my paths. Give me courage to follow wherever You lead. Amen.
