Bold Faith [A Touch Of Faith] Devotions Day 5

Declaring Victory in the Storm

Devotional
Life's storms can be overwhelming. Whether facing health challenges, relationship difficulties, financial pressures, or spiritual warfare, we often feel like we're drowning in circumstances beyond our control. In these moments, what we declare matters profoundly. The psalmist made a powerful declaration in Psalm 118:17: "I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done" This wasn't wishful thinking... it was a statement of faith in God's deliverance and purpose. The psalmist refused to be defined by present struggles, choosing instead to focus on God's faithfulness and the testimony that would emerge. When we're in the midst of our own storms, we have the same choice. We can speak words that reflect our fears and doubts, or we can declare God's promises and purposes. We can focus on the waves crashing around us, or we can fix our eyes on the One who walks on water. Your testimony isn't just about what God has done in the past—it's also about what He's doing right now and what He will do in the future. When you declare "I will not die but live," you're not just expressing hope for survival; you're claiming purpose in your pain and meaning in your struggle.

Bible Verse
I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done. - Psalm 118:17

Reflection Question
What storm are you facing right now, and what declaration of faith could you speak over that situation?

Prayer
Lord, in the midst of my storms, help me declare Your truth rather than my fears. I choose to believe that You are working even when I can't see it. Give me the courage to speak words of faith and to share my testimony of Your faithfulness. Thank You that my story isn't over. Amen.
