Building Memorials of Faith
Devotional
When God performed the miracle of stopping the Jordan River, He didn't want it to be forgotten. He commanded the Israelites to build a memorial... twelve stones stacked together as a permanent reminder of His faithfulness. These stones would spark conversations for generations to come. In the same way, God wants the miracles, breakthroughs, and faithful moments in your life to become memorials that others can see. Every time you choose obedience over convenience, every prayer He answers, every trial you endure with grace... these become spiritual stones that build a testimony of God's goodness. Your memorial isn't built in a single moment but through consistent acts of faithfulness over time. When you forgive someone who doesn't deserve it, you're placing a stone. When you maintain integrity in your workplace despite pressure to compromise, you're adding another stone. When you continue serving God even when life gets difficult, you're building something lasting. These memorials serve a powerful purpose: they provoke questions. People notice when someone responds differently to life's challenges. They wonder about the source of your peace during storms, your hope in difficult seasons, and your strength to keep going when others give up. Just like the Israelites' stone memorial, your life of faith creates opportunities for meaningful conversations. When people ask about your peace, your joy, or your resilience, you get to point them to the God who has been faithful to you. Don't underestimate the power of your testimony.
