Truly Knowing Jesus [Ears To Hear] Devotions Day 1

He Knows Your Name

Devotional
It is easy to feel like you are just one person in a massive crowd, easy to wonder if God really sees you or if you are just a face in the billions. But Jesus does not operate that way. He is not managing a crowd. He is tending to individuals, and that includes you. In John 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and they know Him. Not distant knowledge. Not mere acquaintance. Truly knowing. That is personal. That is intentional. That is love. This is where the journey of hearing God begins. Not with a technique or a formula, but with understanding who is actually speaking. The voice calling out to you belongs to someone who knows everything about you and still chooses you. He is not a distant authority figure issuing commands from far away. He is a shepherd who walks closely, who notices when one sheep wanders, and who goes after that one. You are not a statistic to Him. You are known, loved, and personally chosen. That truth changes how you approach listening. When you believe the voice speaking to you is safe, trustworthy, and full of genuine care, you become more willing to actually hear it. Start here today. Before you try to hear God, simply sit with the reality that He already knows you completely and loves you anyway. That is the foundation everything else is built on.

Bible Verse
"I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me," - John 10:14

Reflection Question
If you truly believed God knows you personally and loves you completely, how would that change the way you approach spending time with Him?

Quote
He knows you by name. You're not just part of one person in a crowd of people. You're not just a statistic. You're an individual that He personally knows, loves, and cares for. You're an individual that He personally chose to die for.

Prayer
Jesus, thank You for knowing me by name and choosing me personally. Help me to rest in that truth today and let it open my heart to hear Your voice more clearly. Amen.
