Surrender Is Daily

Devotional
We have established that your identity in Christ is settled. But settled does not mean static. There is still a daily choice involved, and it is one of the most important choices you will make. Belonging to Jesus is not a one-time decision you made at an altar and then moved on from. It is a daily surrender. Every morning you wake up and choose to live from the identity you already have, rather than slipping back into old patterns of fear, self-reliance, or approval-seeking. This is what spiritual practices are really for. Prayer, Scripture, worship, and community are not boxes to check so God will be pleased with you. They are the ways you stay connected to the presence already living inside you. They keep you tethered to the truth on the days when feelings try to tell you otherwise. Obedience does not produce your belonging. But true belonging absolutely produces obedience. You follow Jesus not to earn your place, but because you are grateful for the place you already have.

Prayer
Lord, I choose to surrender to You again today. Not out of obligation, but out of gratitude for everything You have already done. Keep me connected to Your presence and remind me who I am when I forget. Amen.
