More Than Enough [God's Word] Devotions Day 4

Equipped Despite Our Weakness

Devotional
Here's an encouraging truth that can transform how we view our doubts: God doesn't wait for us to have perfect faith before He equips us for His purposes. Even in our moments of uncertainty and weakness, His Spirit empowers us to act in faith. This is exactly what we see in Gideon's story. Despite his repeated requests for confirmation and his obvious struggles with doubt, God still used him to deliver Israel from their oppressors. This principle is crucial for overcoming doubt in our own lives. We often think we need to resolve all our uncertainties before we can step out in faith. We tell ourselves, "Once I feel more confident, then I'll take that step God is asking me to take." But God's pattern is different. He often calls us to act in faith while we still have questions, knowing that His Spirit will provide the power we need along the way. The key is understanding that our weakness doesn't disqualify us from God's calling... it actually creates space for His strength to be displayed. When we feel inadequate or uncertain, that's often exactly when God wants to show His power through us. Our doubts don't have to paralyze us; they can become the very context in which we experience God's supernatural empowerment. The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, and that same power is available to help us overcome our fears and step into what God has called us to do.

Bible Verse
Then the Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon with power. He blew a ram’s horn as a call to arms, and the men of the clan of Abiezer came to him. - Judges 6:34

Reflection Question
In what area of your life might God be calling you to step out in faith despite your doubts, and how can you rely on His Spirit's power rather than waiting for perfect confidence?

Quote
This tells us that even in our doubts, God equips us with His power. In our weakness He is made strong.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, thank You that You don't wait for my perfect faith to empower me. Help me to step out in obedience even when I have doubts, trusting that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Give me courage to act in faith today. Amen.
