Cross Fit [Fill The Burn] Devotions Day 1
The Foundation of Authentic Love
Devotional
In our fast-paced world, it's easy to settle for surface-level relationships and quick interactions. We wave, smile, and exchange pleasantries, but often miss opportunities for deeper connection. Yet God calls us to something more profound - authentic love that transforms both the giver and receiver. This kind of love requires intentional effort and genuine investment in others. It means looking beyond our comfortable circles and seeing each person as someone created in God's image. When we begin to view others through this lens, our approach to relationships fundamentally changes. Instead of quick hellos, we pause to really listen. Rather than rushed conversations, we create space for meaningful dialogue. This is the starting point of building spiritual strength - recognizing that every person we encounter deserves our genuine love and attention.
Bible Verse
'Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.' - Romans 12:9-10
Reflection Question
How might your daily interactions change if you truly saw each person you meet as someone created in God's image?
Quote
God calls us to real and genuine authentic love that goes beyond being nice to people and pretending to care. Authentic love requires concentration and effort. It means helping others become better people while we work to become better people ourselves.
Prayer
Lord, help me move beyond surface-level interactions and develop authentic love for others. Give me the courage to invest deeply in relationships and see others as You see them. Amen.
