Cross Fit [Fill The Burn] Devotions Day 4

Love That Crosses Boundaries

Devotional
One of the most challenging aspects of authentic love is extending it to those who have hurt us. Our natural instinct is to withdraw, protect ourselves, or even seek revenge. However, spiritual strength grows when we choose to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. This doesn't mean ignoring wrong actions or enabling harmful behavior. Instead, it means recognizing that every person, even those who hurt us, is someone for whom Christ died. This perspective helps us respond to evil with good, breaking cycles of hatred and demonstrating God's transformative love.

Bible Verse
'Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.' - Romans 12:14-15

Reflection Question
What would it look like to actively pray for and seek the good of someone who has hurt you?

Quote
Every person that you meet is someone that Jesus died for. Whether you like them, whether you don't like them, whether you don't think they deserve your love and your grace and your mercy, that person, Jesus died for them, too.

Prayer
Lord, give me the strength to love those who have hurt me. Help me to see them through Your eyes and respond with blessing rather than cursing. Amen.
