Without Vision [Enduring The Journey] Devotions Day 1

The Long Road Ahead

Devotional
Have you ever noticed how different a marathon is from a sprint? While both require training and dedication, the approach and mindset needed are vastly different. Our spiritual journey mirrors this reality. It's not about quick bursts of energy or immediate results – it's about steady, consistent progress over the long haul. Just as a marathon runner must pace themselves and maintain their energy, we too must approach our faith journey with wisdom and endurance. This means making daily choices that align with God's will, even when the finish line seems far away. It's about developing spiritual stamina that will carry us through both the smooth stretches and the challenging terrains of life. God hasn't called us to sprint through life, but to walk steadily with Him, learning and growing along the way. Each step forward is progress, and each day presents a new opportunity to strengthen our spiritual muscles.

Bible Verse
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne." - Hebrews 12:1-2

Reflection Question
What 'weights' in your life might be slowing down your spiritual progress, and what practical steps can you take to address them?

Quote
Life isn't a hundred meter sprint. Life's not like just a short sprint and done. Life is like an endurance race. And we need God's vision to help us navigate the course and avoid obstacles and dangers that can trip us up and even keep us from finishing the race.

Prayer
Lord, help me understand that my journey with You is a marathon, not a sprint. Give me the wisdom to pace myself and the strength to persevere. Guide my steps and help me identify anything that might be holding me back from fully following You. Amen.
