The Heart of Discipleship

Devotional
Following Jesus is more than just saying a prayer or attending church services. It's about a complete transformation of our hearts and lives. True discipleship involves daily decisions to follow Christ's leading and example. Many people want the benefits of salvation without the commitment of discipleship. However, authentic faith isn't about maintaining a minimal standard or finding out how close we can get to sin without crossing a line. Instead, it's about drawing as close as possible to Jesus, allowing His presence to transform our desires and priorities. When we focus on growing closer to Christ, our perspective shifts. The question changes from 'What can I get away with?' to 'How can I become more like Jesus?'

Jesus, help me to be a true disciple, not just a casual believer. Transform my heart and renew my mind. Draw me closer to You each day, and help me reflect Your character more clearly. Amen.
