Famous Last Words [Jesus Died So You Can Have Life] Devotions Day 2

Beyond Feelings

Devotional
Our emotions can be powerful indicators, but unreliable guides. One day we might feel deeply connected to God during worship, while the next day we might question His presence entirely. Yet God's faithfulness isn't dependent on our feelings - it's rooted in His unchanging character and promises. When we anchor ourselves in His Word rather than our emotions, we find a foundation that remains steady regardless of our emotional state.

Bible Verse
At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” - Matthew 27:46

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” - Deuteronomy 31:8

Reflection Question
What promises from God's Word can you hold onto when your feelings don't align with His truth?

Quote
Feelings are fickle. They come, they go, they change on a whim. Just because we can't feel God doesn't mean that He's not there.

Prayer
Lord, help me trust in Your unchanging character rather than my changing emotions. Thank You for being constant even when I am not. Amen.
