The Flame That Forms Us [Heating] Day 5

Reflecting His Image

Devotional
The ultimate goal of refinement isn't just to endure trials - it's to emerge looking more like Christ. A silversmith knows the process is complete when they can see their reflection in the metal. Similarly, God's work in our lives continues until we reflect His image more clearly. This transformation doesn't happen overnight; it's a gradual process that requires patience and trust. The journey might be challenging, but the end result is worth every moment in the refiner's fire.

Bible Verse
I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’” - Zechariah 13:9

Reflection Question
In what ways have you seen God's character being formed in you through past trials?

Quote
The silversmith replied, 'when I can see my image in it.'

Prayer
Lord, continue Your refining work in my life until I reflect Your image more clearly. Thank You for Your patience and faithfulness in this process. Help me trust You even when the fire is hot. Amen.
