I Am [The Bread Of Life] Devotions Day 1

Recognizing Our True Hunger

Devotional
Have you ever found yourself scrolling endlessly through social media, or binge-watching shows, only to feel emptier afterward? We often try to fill our inner void with temporary distractions, but these never quite satisfy. It's like eating cotton candy - sweet for a moment, but leaving us hungrier than before. Our hearts were designed for something more substantial, more lasting. Just as our bodies need real food for sustenance, our souls need real spiritual nourishment that only comes from one source.

Bible Verse
But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ - Matthew 4:4

Reflection Question
What activities or pursuits do you turn to when feeling empty, and how lasting is the satisfaction they provide?

Quote
See, we keep ourselves busy so we don't have to think. Can you relate to that? And just try to keep your mind distracted so you don't have to think about things. But when the noise stops, that emptiness is still there.

Prayer
Dear God, help me recognize the true source of my hunger. Open my eyes to see beyond temporary satisfactions and guide me toward the lasting fulfillment found only in You. Amen.
