The True Meaning of Sacrifice

When we hear the word 'sacrifice,' we often think of giving up something valuable. But true sacrifice in God's kingdom operates differently. It's not about reluctantly letting go of things we cherish - it's about discovering something so precious that everything else naturally takes second place. Think of finding a treasure so valuable that selling everything you own to acquire it feels less like sacrifice and more like the wisest investment you could make. That's what happens when we truly encounter Jesus. Our perspective shifts from 'What do I have to give up?' to 'What do I get to give for the sake of knowing Him more?'

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. - Romans 12:1
