Bold Faith [A Touch Of Faith] Devotions Day 1
The Power of Belief
Devotional
Faith begins in the heart. It's that deep, unshakable conviction that God is who He says He is and will do what He has promised. But true faith doesn't stay hidden inside us... it finds expression through our words and actions. When we genuinely believe something, we naturally talk about it. Think about the last time you received exciting news. Did you keep it to yourself? Probably not! You likely called someone, texted a friend, or shared it on social media. Our excitement bubbles over into expression. The same principle applies to our faith. The apostle Paul quotes the psalmist saying, "I believe in God, so I spoke." This simple statement reveals a profound truth: authentic faith naturally leads to verbal expression. When we truly believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord, those beliefs will find their way to our lips. Today, consider what your words reveal about your beliefs. Are you speaking words of faith, hope, and trust in God? Or do worry, doubt, and negativity dominate your speech? Our words are powerful indicators of what's truly happening in our hearts.
Bible Verse
But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.” - 2 Corinthians 4:13
Reflection Question
What does your everyday speech reveal about what you truly believe about God and His promises?
Quote "I believe in God, so I spoke. There's a direct response to our belief. That direct response is our words."
Prayer
Lord, help me to examine my heart today. Strengthen my belief in You and give me the courage to speak words that reflect my faith. May my speech be filled with trust in Your goodness and power. Amen.
