Step By Step [Keep In Step With God] Devotions Day 5
Faithful in the Little Things
Devotional
There's something beautiful about consistency. Like water slowly carving through rock or a tree growing ring by ring. Small, faithful actions over time create extraordinary results. In our instant-gratification world, we often underestimate the power of doing small things consistently. Think about the most successful people you know... not just in terms of career, but in character and relationships. Chances are, their success didn't come from one dramatic moment but from countless small, faithful choices made day after day. The parent who shows up consistently, the friend who listens faithfully, the employee who serves diligently... these people understand that faithfulness in little things creates a foundation for big blessings. God sees every small act of obedience, every quiet moment of faithfulness, every time you choose to do the right thing when no one is watching. These moments might seem insignificant to you, but they're precious to Him. They're the soil where big blessings grow. When you focus on little consistencies over time... reading your Bible regularly, praying daily, serving others, choosing kindness, practicing forgiveness... you have no idea the change it can make in your life. These small disciplines shape your heart, renew your mind, and prepare you for the incredible places God wants to take you. As you finish this week of devotions, remember that your spiritual journey is built on these daily choices. Don't despise the small steps or get frustrated with the gradual process. God is working through every faithful moment to transform you into the person He created you to be. When you do the right thing, the right way, no matter how small, over time God will take you to incredible places.
Bible Verse
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. - Philippians 1:6
Reflection Question
What small, consistent practice could you commit to this week that might seem insignificant now but could lead to significant spiritual growth over time?
Quote
Faithfulness in the little things is a soil where big blessings grow.
Prayer
Lord, help me to be faithful in the small things, trusting that You see and value every act of obedience. Give me perseverance to continue doing good even when I don't see immediate results. Thank You for the promise that You will complete the good work You've started in me. Help me to trust Your process and celebrate the small steps of growth. Amen.
