More Than Enough [God's Plan] Devotions Day 2

Less Can Be More

Devotional
In our culture, more is usually better. More money, more resources, more people on our team, more options. We're conditioned to believe that success comes through accumulation and strength through numbers. But God often operates by a completely different principle. Gideon learned this the hard way. God deliberately reduced his army from 32,000 to 300 - a 99% reduction! From a human perspective, this seemed like strategic suicide. But God had a purpose: 'If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength.' Sometimes God will strip away what we're depending on so we'll learn to depend on Him instead. That job you lost, the financial setback, the health challenge - what if these aren't punishments but invitations? Invitations to discover that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. When we have abundant resources, it's easy to trust in our own abilities. When we're reduced to almost nothing, we have no choice but to look up. And that's exactly where God wants us... in a place where only He can get the glory for what happens next. Gideon's 300 men weren't chosen because they were the strongest or most skilled. They were chosen because with so few, victory could only come from God. Your current limitations aren't obstacles to God's plan... they might be the very conditions He needs to show His power.

Bible Verse
Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. - Zechariah 4:6

Reflection Question
What has God reduced in your life that you initially saw as a loss, but could actually be preparing you to depend more fully on Him?

Quote
Sometimes God will reduce what you depend on so that you will see that you need to depend on Him.

Prayer
Father, help me see my limitations not as barriers but as opportunities for Your strength to shine through. Teach me to depend on You rather than my own resources. Amen.
