Deeper Still [Trust God] Devotions Day 4

God's Presence in the Trials

Devotional
One of the most comforting truths about trusting God is understanding what He promises and what He doesn't. God doesn't promise a life free from trials, heartaches, or uncertainty. But He does promise something far better: His presence with us through every challenge. Fear whispers lies, trying to convince us that we're not equipped for what lies ahead, that God won't provide or guide us through difficult times. But God's track record speaks louder than fear's whispers. He has never failed anyone who trusted in Him, and He never will. When David walked through the valley of the shadow of death, he didn't fear because God was with him. When the disciples faced storms, Jesus was there. When you face your darkest moments, God is present. His promise isn't to remove every difficulty but to walk through it with you. This changes everything about how we approach trials. Instead of facing them alone in our own strength, we face them knowing the Creator of the universe is by our side, going before us to prepare the way.

Bible Verse
'Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.' - Psalm 23:4

Reflection Question
How does knowing God's presence is with you in trials change your perspective on current challenges you're facing?

Quote
When God asks us to trust Him, He does not promise a life free of trials. But He does assure us that in our trials He will be with us.

Prayer
Lord, thank You that You don't promise to remove all trials, but You promise to be with me through them. Help me feel Your presence in difficult times.
