Name Above All Names [Good Friday] Devotions Day 3
The Way Is Open
Devotional
At the exact moment Jesus breathed His last breath, something miraculous happened in the temple. The massive curtain that separated people from God's holy presence was torn in two from top to bottom... not by human hands, but by God Himself. For centuries, only the high priest could enter God's presence once a year, but Jesus' sacrifice changed everything. His death didn't just pay for our sins; it opened direct access to God for every believer. No longer do we need to approach God through intermediaries or feel distant from Him because of our failures. Jesus became our great High Priest, making a way for us to know God personally and intimately. This means you can talk to God anytime, anywhere, about anything. His presence is available to you right now, not because you've earned it, but because Jesus made it possible through His sacrifice.
Bible Verse
At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart... - Matthew 27:51
Reflection Question
How does knowing you have direct access to God through Jesus change the way you approach prayer and your relationship with Him?
Quote
Jesus death opened the way for all of us to be able to approach God directly. His sacrifice made a way for us to know God, to be reconciled to God, and to be in relationship with God.
Prayer
Father, thank You that through Jesus, I can come boldly into Your presence. Help me never take this incredible privilege for granted.
