Name Above All Names [Resurrection Sunday] Devotions Day 2

When Expectations Are Transformed

Devotional
Imagine walking to a cemetery expecting to grieve, only to discover that death has been defeated. This is exactly what happened to the women who went to Jesus' tomb. They came with spices to anoint a dead body, but instead encountered an angel announcing the most incredible news in human history: "He is not here; He is risen!" Sometimes our expectations limit what we believe God can do. These women expected to find death, but God had something infinitely greater in mind. Their mourning was transformed into joy, their despair into hope, their ending into a new beginning. God often works beyond our expectations. When we're facing situations that seem hopeless... broken relationships, financial struggles, health challenges... we might expect the worst. But God specializes in resurrection moments, where He brings life from death and hope from despair. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to transform your circumstances today. What are you expecting from God right now? Are you limiting Him to your understanding, or are you open to the possibility that He might do something far greater than you can imagine?

Bible Verse
Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. - Matthew 28:5-6
