God Makes All Things New [A New Home] Devotions Day 1

More Than This World

Devotional
Have you ever been so excited about something coming that it changed how you felt about what you were doing right now? Maybe it was anticipating a vacation, a wedding, or moving to a new home. That anticipation has a way of putting everything else in perspective. God has something incredible planned for us that goes far beyond anything we can imagine in this life. He promises to create a new heaven and new earth so beautiful and perfect that we won't even think about this current world anymore. This isn't just about making our current circumstances better... it's about a complete transformation of everything. What's amazing is that God isn't creating something entirely foreign to us. He's restoring everything back to what He originally intended before sin entered the picture. He's taking us back to the garden, but even better. Every broken thing will be made whole. Every tear will be wiped away. Every injustice will be made right. This promise should change how we view our current struggles and joys. When we know that the best is yet to come, it helps us hold loosely to the temporary things of this world while holding tightly to the eternal things of God. Our current life, with all its beauty and pain, is just the beginning of the story God is writing.

Bible Verse
“Look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore. - Isaiah 65:17

Reflection Question
How might knowing that God has something infinitely better planned for you change the way you view your current circumstances and challenges?

Quote
In all of the goodness of the relationship with God, this life is just the appetizer. When we talk about how God makes all things new, that doesn't end here. In fact, there is an even more glorious season of life that God is building for us. An eternity with Him in heaven.

Prayer
Father, thank You for the incredible future You have planned for me. Help me to live with the hope and anticipation of Your new creation, and let that hope transform how I see my life today. Amen.
