Deeper Still [God's Power] Devotions Day 3
Greater Works Ahead
Devotional
Jesus made one of the most astounding promises in Scripture: His followers would not only do the works He did but even greater ones. This isn't about human ability or spiritual superiority... it's about the Holy Spirit's power. The same Spirit who empowered Jesus to heal the sick, raise the dead, and transform lives now lives in every believer. This promise isn't reserved for pastors, missionaries, or the 'spiritually elite.' It's for you. The reason this is possible isn't mystical... it's practical. Jesus was limited to one physical body in one location at a time. But through His Spirit living in millions of believers worldwide, His work multiplies exponentially. Every act of love, every prayer for healing, every moment of sharing hope... these are the 'greater works' Jesus spoke about. You carry the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. The question isn't whether God can work through you, but whether you'll believe He wants to. Your ordinary life becomes extraordinary when the Spirit of God flows through it.
Bible Verse
I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. - John 14:12
Reflection Question
What 'greater work' might God want to accomplish through your life this week?
Quote
Jesus said that his followers would not only do what he did... but will do even greater works.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, help me believe that You want to do extraordinary things through my ordinary life. Use me for Your greater works.
