Kingdom Logic [What Goes Down Must Come Up] Devotions Day 4

True Humility

Devotional
Humility is often misunderstood. Many people think it means putting yourself down, thinking you're worthless, or pretending you don't have any gifts or abilities. But biblical humility is actually much healthier and more attractive than that. True humility isn't thinking less of yourself... it's thinking of yourself less. It's having accurate self-knowledge in light of God's grace. It means seeing yourself truly: recognizing both your gifts and your limitations, understanding your need for God, and choosing to use your abilities to serve others rather than to elevate yourself. Jesus perfectly demonstrated this kind of humility. He knew exactly who He was... the King of the universe with all authority... yet He chose to be a servant king. He washed His disciples' feet not because He thought little of Himself, but because He thought much of them. When we embrace biblical humility, we're freed from the exhausting work of self-promotion. We don't have to constantly manage our image or worry about what others think. We can focus on loving God and serving others, knowing that our identity is secure in Christ. This kind of humility is magnetic... it draws people in and creates the kind of influence that money and titles can never buy.

Bible Verse
'And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”' - James 4:6

God, give me the grace to see myself accurately... neither too high nor too low. Help me find freedom in humility and joy in serving others.
