Bold Faith [A Touch Of Faith] Devotions Day 2

Faith That Speaks Out

Devotional
God's Word isn't meant to be distant or inaccessible. Moses reminded the Israelites that God's commands weren't too difficult to understand or too far away to reach. They weren't in heaven, requiring someone to ascend and retrieve them, nor across the sea, demanding an impossible journey. Rather, "No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it." Paul echoes this in Romans, applying it to our confession of faith in Jesus. The message of faith isn't complicated—it's as close as our hearts and lips. We believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, and we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. This dual nature of faith, internal belief paired with external confession, forms the foundation of our Christian walk. One without the other is incomplete. Faith without confession remains private and personal, never impacting others. Confession without genuine belief is just empty words. God designed faith to be both deeply personal and openly expressed. When we verbalize our trust in God, we not only strengthen our own faith but also invite others to experience the same relationship with Him.

Bible Verse
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9

Reflection Question
In what situations do you find it most challenging to verbally express your faith, and what might be holding you back?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for making Your Word accessible to me. Give me courage to speak out my faith, not just hold it in my heart. Help me overcome any fear or hesitation that keeps me from declaring what I believe. In Jesus' name, amen.
