A Weary World Rejoices [Joy In Place Of Despair] Devotional Day 2

Joy is a Fruit of the Spirit

Devotional
Joy is not an emotion that comes and goes with our circumstances. It is a fruit of the Spirit, as highlighted in Galatians 5:22-23. This means that joy is a result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives. It is a resilient state of being that remains steadfast even in trials. When we allow the Holy Spirit to fill us, we experience a joy that is not dependent on our external situations. Galatians 5:22-23 says, 'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.' This passage reminds us that joy is a divine gift that develops within us as we walk with the Spirit. By focusing on our relationship with God and allowing His Spirit to work in us, we can experience true joy.
