Covenant [A Promise Of Purpose] Devotions Day 4

Living as Light

Devotional
In a world often marked by darkness - confusion, pain, and moral uncertainty - God calls His people to be different. Just as a single candle can illuminate a dark room, our lives can bring light to the spaces we occupy. This calling isn't about perfection or superiority; it's about reflecting God's character in our daily interactions. When we choose kindness over cruelty, integrity over convenience, or forgiveness over bitterness, we shine God's light. Every small act of love, every choice to stand for truth, every moment of extending grace - these are ways we fulfill our calling to be light in the darkness.

Bible Verse
"But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light." - 1 Peter 2:9

Reflection Question
What specific opportunities do you have this week to be a light in your home, school, workplace, or community?

Quote
"We are called to be a light in the darkness. And that's what Israel was called to do."

Prayer
Lord, make me a light in the darkness. Help me to reflect Your character in ways that draw others to You. Give me wisdom to know how to shine Your light in every situation I face. Amen.
