Kingdom Logic [More Blessed To Give Than To Receive] Devotions Day 3

Empty to Be Filled

Devotional
There's a beautiful paradox in God's kingdom: we must empty ourselves to be filled. Picture trying to pour fresh water into a cup that's already full of stale water... it's impossible until you first empty what's there. The same is true spiritually. When our hands are tightly clenched around our possessions, time, and resources, there's no room for God to pour His blessings into our lives. Giving requires us to open our hands and trust. It means releasing the illusion that our security comes from what we can accumulate and control. When we give generously, we're essentially saying, "God, I trust You more than I trust my bank account, my schedule, or my comfort zone." This act of surrender creates space for God to work in ways we never imagined. The blessing isn't just in what God might give back to us... it's in the freedom we experience when we stop trying to be our own provider and protector. Today, consider what you might need to release so that God can fill you with something far better.

Bible Verse
Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else? - Romans 8:32

Reflection Question
What are you holding onto so tightly that it might be preventing God from filling you with something better?

Quote
You must empty yourself to be filled. You can't receive God's fullness while your hands are clenched around your own stuff.

Prayer
Lord, help me open my hands and release my grip on the things I think provide security. Fill the empty spaces with Your presence and provision.
