Kingdom Logic [More Blessed To Give Than To Receive] Devotions Day 4

The Measure You Use

Devotional
God has established a beautiful principle in His kingdom: the measure we use in giving becomes the measure we receive. This isn't a formula for getting rich... it's a truth about how generosity shapes our hearts and our experience of God's goodness. When we give grudgingly, with a tight heart and reluctant spirit, we position ourselves to receive in the same manner. But when we give with joy, abundance, and trust, we open ourselves to experience God's blessings in the same generous way. The heart behind our giving matters more than the amount. A small gift given with genuine love and joy carries more spiritual weight than a large donation given reluctantly. This principle extends beyond money to every area of life... how we give our time, attention, forgiveness, and love. Think of a husband and wife. If both people are genuinely, cheerfully giving each other love, that creates a beautiful relationship. If one of the people in the relationship is more concerned about what they are getting instead of what they are giving, the relationship becomes unhealthy. The beautiful truth is that God wants to bless us abundantly, but He waits for us to position our hearts in a place where we can receive it. Today, examine not just what you give, but how you give it.

Bible Verse
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. - Luke 6:38

Reflection Question
How does the attitude of your heart when giving affect your ability to receive God's blessings?

Quote
Jesus is saying that whatever standard of generosity that you set for yourself here will be the standard of which the blessing returns to you.

Prayer
God, transform my heart so that I give with joy and generosity. Help me trust that You will provide abundantly as I give freely to others.
