You Are Essential to What God Is Building

It can be tempting to think that your role in the church is small. That the really important work is being done by someone else, someone more gifted, more visible, more put-together. But that is not what God says about you. Paul describes Jesus as the cornerstone, the stone that determines the alignment of everything else. Every other stone in the structure is positioned in relation to Him. And here is the remarkable thing: you are one of those stones. Not decorative. Not optional. Structurally essential. Being fitted into that structure is not always comfortable. It sometimes means being shaped, adjusted, and reshaped by the Spirit so that you fit more truly alongside the people around you. That process can feel like friction. But it is the friction of something being built to last. You are not too broken, too late, or too ordinary to matter in what God is doing. He is the one doing the building, and He has placed you exactly where He wants you. Your presence, your faithfulness, your willingness to keep showing up, it is all part of something sacred, alive, and growing. You are essential. You belong. Keep building.

Father, thank You for placing me exactly where You want me. Give me the courage to stay, to be shaped, and to trust that You are building something beautiful through all of us together. Amen.
