Dry Bones [God's Word] Devotions Day 1

When Hope Feels Gone

Devotional
Have you ever felt spiritually empty? Like the life has just drained out of you and you're not sure how to get it back? You're not alone, and more importantly, you're not finished. In Ezekiel 37, God led the prophet into a valley filled with dry, scattered bones. It was a picture of complete hopelessness. And right in the middle of that scene, God asked Ezekiel a question: "Can these bones live again?" Ezekiel didn't pretend to have it all figured out. He didn't fake confidence he didn't have. He simply said, in effect, "I don't know... but God, You do." That honest, humble response was not weakness. It was faith. Maybe you are in your own valley right now. Maybe the dryness feels permanent. But here's the truth that changes everything: spiritual deadness is not the end of your story. God specializes in impossible situations. He asked Ezekiel that question not because He needed an answer, but because He wanted Ezekiel (and us) to look at the impossible and still trust Him. Your valley is real. But so is God's Word. And it has the power to make you live again. The same God who stood in that valley with Ezekiel is standing with you right now.

Bible Verse
"He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death." - Psalm 107:20

Reflection Question
What "valley" in your life right now feels too far gone for God to reach, and what would it look like to respond with honest, humble faith instead of giving up?

Quote
"Your valley is real, too. Your deadness, if that's where you are, it's real. But so is God's Word. And it has the power to make you live again."

Prayer
God, I bring You my dry places honestly and without pretending. I don't always know how things can change, but I trust that You do. Speak into my valley today.
