Dry Bones [God's Word] Devotions Day 2

God's Word Is Alive

Devotional
We live in a world overflowing with information. Podcasts, books, articles, advice from every direction. Some of it is helpful. Some of it is even encouraging. But there is something completely different about God's Word. When Ezekiel spoke God's words over those dry bones, something supernatural happened. Bones rattled. Flesh formed. Breath returned. A valley of death became a field of life. That wasn't Ezekiel's power. It was the power of the Word he carried. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God's Word is alive and active. Not was alive. Not was powerful. Is. Right now. Today. It is not a history book collecting dust. It is not a collection of motivational quotes. It is the living voice of God, and it still does today what it did in Ezekiel's valley. Encouraging words from a friend can lift your spirits. But God's Word goes deeper. It reaches places no human voice can touch. It speaks to the parts of you that are tired, confused, or broken, and it brings life. If you've been treating Scripture like a routine checkbox or a quick daily reading to get through, consider approaching it differently today. Come expecting to hear from a God who is actually speaking. Because He is.

Bible Verse
"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and Spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." - Hebrews 4:12

Reflection Question
When you open the Bible, are you approaching it as a living conversation with God or more like a task to complete, and what might change if you came with fresh expectation?

Quote
"God's Word is not dead information. This is not just a history book. This is not just a book of stories. It is alive, it is powerful, and it accomplishes what God purposes."

Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to see Your Word for what it truly is: alive, powerful, and meant for me. Help me come to Scripture expecting to hear Your voice today.
