Truly Knowing Jesus [Eyes To See] Devotions Day 3

The 12-Inch Journey

Devotional
Sometimes the longest journey isn't across an ocean or to a distant city. Sometimes it's just twelve inches. That's the distance from your head to your heart, and for many people, it's the hardest trip they'll ever take. We live in a world that prizes information. We think if we just learn enough, understand enough, or study enough, everything will fall into place. But a relationship with Jesus doesn't work that way. You can't think your way into it. It's not a puzzle to be solved. He's a Person to be encountered. A hardened heart isn't always the result of rebellion. Sometimes it comes from disappointment, from fear of what following Jesus might actually cost, or from years of going through the motions without ever truly connecting. But here's what's beautiful: Jesus isn't waiting for you to have a perfect heart before He meets you. He's asking for an open one. Softening your heart is not weakness. It's actually the bravest thing you can do.

Bible Verse
Asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. - Ephesians 1:17

Reflection Question
What might be keeping your faith more in your head than in your heart, and what would it look like to let it move deeper?

Quote
"For some people, one of the hardest journeys to take is only 12 inches long. That's the journey of taking Jesus from the head to the heart."

Prayer
God, soften my heart today. Where I've built walls out of fear or pride, gently break them down and help me receive You fully. Amen.
