Truly Knowing Jesus [Minds To Understand] Devotions Day 1
More Than Facts: Knowing Jesus for Real
Devotional
Think about someone you love deeply. You know their laugh, their quirks, how they respond under pressure. That kind of knowing is completely different from reading their biography. You can know every fact about a person and still not truly know them. The same is true with Jesus. Many of us grew up hearing His name, learning His stories, maybe even memorizing Scripture. But familiarity is not the same as relationship. Knowing about Jesus and truly knowing Jesus are two very different things. Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us a starting point. It does not say to study harder or figure it out on your own. It says to trust God with your whole heart and stop leaning on your own understanding. That is an invitation to move from information to intimacy. Here is the good news: Jesus is not hiding from you. He is not waiting for you to be smart enough or spiritual enough to find Him. He is already reaching toward you. The question is whether you are willing to move beyond what you already know and let Him show you something deeper. Throughout the week, we are going to continue to explore what it really means to know Jesus, not just know about Him. And it starts right here, with an honest look at where you are.
Bible Verse
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." - Proverbs 3:5-6
Reflection Question
If someone could observe your daily life, would they see evidence of a relationship with Jesus or simply a familiarity with His story?
Prayer
Lord, I want more than facts about You. Open my heart to truly know You, not just know about You. Lead me deeper this week.
