Truly Knowing Jesus [Minds To Understand] Devotions Day 3
The Spirit Who Opens Your Eyes
Devotional
Have you ever read a passage of Scripture dozens of times and then one day it suddenly hits differently? Something clicks that never clicked before. That is not just a good mood or a fresh perspective. That is the Holy Spirit doing what only He can do. Paul makes a striking point in 1 Corinthians 2. The deep things of God cannot be discovered through human reasoning alone. No amount of intelligence, research, or effort gets you there. The Spirit of God searches those depths and reveals them to those who belong to Him. This is not discouraging. It is actually freeing. You do not have to be a theologian or a lifelong churchgoer to truly know Jesus. The Spirit is not reserved for the spiritually elite. He is available to anyone who belongs to God, and His job is to reveal Jesus to you. Paul goes even further and says that believers already have the mind of Christ. Not will have someday. Already have. That means right now, you have access to His perspective, His values, and His way of seeing the world. The question is whether you are tapping into it. You cannot think your way into this kind of knowing. But you can ask. And asking is exactly where it starts.
Bible Verse
"But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets." - 1 Corinthians 2:10
Reflection Question
When was the last time you asked the Holy Spirit to reveal something new about Jesus to you, rather than relying only on what you already know?
Quote
"You can't think your way into truly knowing Jesus. You cannot arrive at deep revelation of who he is through human reasoning alone, no matter how brilliant you are."
Prayer
Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see Jesus more clearly today. Reveal what I cannot discover on my own, and let that knowing change me.
