Following Jesus [Believe] Devotions Day 4

When Everything Gets Reorganized

Devotional
There is a moment that happens when you truly surrender your life to Jesus. It is not always dramatic. Sometimes it is quiet. But something shifts. The things you used to chase start to look different. The priorities you built your life around get rearranged. Paul described this in Philippians with striking honesty. He had credentials, status, and a reputation that most people would envy. And he called all of it worthless compared to knowing Christ. Not because those things were evil, but because nothing compares to the infinite value of a real relationship with Jesus. This is what genuine belief produces. It is not just a change in behavior. It is a change in what you value. Jesus becomes the lens through which everything else is measured. You might be in a season where you are holding tightly to something, your plans, your comfort, your sense of control. And Jesus is not asking you to throw your life into chaos. He is asking you to trust that what He offers is worth more than what you are holding onto. The good news is that this reorganization is not a loss. It is the best trade you will ever make. What you gain in Christ far outweighs anything you lay down.

Bible Verse
I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ. - Philippians 3:7-8

Reflection Question
What is one thing you are holding onto that might be keeping Jesus from being truly first in your life?

Quote
Once you really believe in Jesus, like truly believe in Jesus, once you actually commit to following Him, your entire value system, it gets totally reorganized.

Prayer
Lord, help me to see clearly what I am valuing above You. Give me the courage to loosen my grip and trust that You are worth more than anything I could hold onto. Amen.
