You Already Belong

Have you ever walked into a room and felt like you did not quite fit? Maybe it was a new job or a social gathering. That feeling of not belonging is one of the most uncomfortable feelings a person can experience. And if we are honest, many of us carry that feeling into our relationship with God too. But here is the truth that changes everything: belonging to Jesus is not something you have to earn or feel your way into. It is already done. Before you woke up this morning, before you prayed the right prayer or read enough Scripture, you already belonged to Him. God did not offer you a trial membership. He paid the highest price imaginable to bring you in. That is not the action of someone who is unsure about you. That is the action of a Father who is absolutely certain. You do not have to perform your way into His family. You are already in it. Rest in that today.

Bible Verse
"For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God." - 1 Peter 1:18-19

In what areas of your life are you still trying to earn a belonging that God has already freely given you?

Prayer
Father, thank You for paying a price I could never pay to bring me into Your family. Help me to stop striving for what You have already given me and to simply rest in the truth that I belong to You. Amen.
