Surrender Is Where It Starts

Most of us want transformation without surrender. We want to be changed, but we want to stay in control of how that happens. The problem is, real change does not work that way. Romans 12:1-2 lays out a clear path. It begins with offering yourself fully to God, your time, your plans, your need to be in charge. Not because God is demanding something from you, but because surrender is actually the safest place you can be. You are placing yourself in the hands of the One who loves you most. This is not about white-knuckling your way to a better life. It is about releasing your grip on the life you have been trying to manage on your own. Surrender is not weakness. It is wisdom. It is recognizing that God can do far more with your life than you can. Today, you do not have to surrender everything perfectly. You just have to take one honest step toward open hands. That is enough to start.

'And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. God, I release my grip. Take what I have been holding onto and do something greater with it than I ever could. Amen.
