Following Jesus [Build] Devotions Day 5

Pass It On

Devotional
Here is the beautiful thing about discipleship: it was never meant to stop with you. When you invest in someone, and they grow, and they turn around and invest in someone else, that is not just a nice outcome. That is the whole point. Paul laid it out simply for Timothy. Take what you have received, pass it to faithful people, and trust them to pass it on to others. That is how the gospel has always moved. Not through platforms or programs, but through people who were changed by Jesus and could not help but bring others along. You are not being asked to build a following. You are being asked to follow Jesus so closely, and so genuinely, that others are drawn to do the same. The goal is not your influence. The goal is His kingdom, growing one relationship at a time. Maybe you are just beginning to understand what it means to be discipled. Maybe you are ready to start discipling someone else. Either way, you are part of something much bigger than yourself. Every faithful conversation, every honest moment, every prayer shared in a conversation is a seed being planted in a chain that stretches further than you can see. That is discipleship. That is the church. That is how the kingdom actually grows.

Bible Verse
'You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.' - 2 Timothy 2:2

Reflection Question
Who is one person in your life right now that you could begin intentionally investing in, and what would that first step actually look like?

Quote
The natural end of discipleship is multiplication. You invest in someone, they become whole and strong and they turn around and invest in someone else. That's how the gospel actually spreads.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the people who invested in me. Give me the courage and the faithfulness to do the same for others, so that Your kingdom keeps growing long after I am gone. Amen.
