Bonfire [Sanctified Worship] Devotions Day 5

Bring It Into the Light

Devotional
There is something that happens when we stop hiding. Shame thrives in secrecy, but it loses its grip the moment we speak the truth out loud to someone we trust. This is not weakness. It is one of the bravest things a person can do. You were not designed to fight your battles alone. Community is not a bonus feature of the Christian life. It is part of how God designed healing to work. When you share your struggle with a trusted friend, a mentor, or a small group, you are not just getting accountability... You are stepping into the light, and the light is where freedom lives. This is the final and ongoing step: keep walking in honesty, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and keep doing it with people around you. A disciple of Jesus has one treasure, one focus, one Lord. That kind of singular devotion does not happen in isolation. It is forged in community, in prayer, and in the daily choice to return to Him. You do not have to have everything figured out before you take this step. Just start. Reach out to someone today. Speak it into the light. Jesus is already there, and He is more than enough for whatever you bring.

Bible Verse
'Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.' - James 5:16

Reflection Question
Who in your life could you trust enough to share your struggle with, and what is holding you back from taking that step today?

Quote
"Shame grows in secrecy. But when you speak your idol into the light, it loses its power."

Prayer
Father, give me the humility and courage to stop hiding and step into the light with someone I trust. Remind me that I am not alone in this, and that Your grace covers everything I bring into the open. Amen.
