Step By Step [Stepping Stones And Memorials] Devotions Day 2
Your Influence Matters
Devotional
Every day, you're influencing someone. Whether you realize it or not, people are watching how you handle stress, respond to conflict, and navigate life's challenges. The question isn't whether you have influence... it's what kind of influence you're having. Consider the ripple effect of your daily choices. When you choose patience over anger in traffic, someone notices. When you speak kindly about a difficult coworker instead of joining the gossip, it makes an impression. When you maintain hope during tough times, others take note. Your faith isn't a private matter that only affects you. God has strategically placed you in specific relationships, workplaces, and communities where your life can point others toward Him. You might be the only 'Bible' some people ever read. Think about the people in your sphere of influence: your family members, coworkers, neighbors, and friends. Some of them are watching to see if your faith makes a real difference in how you live. They're looking for authenticity, not perfection. The beautiful truth is that you don't need to be a pastor or missionary to influence others for God. You simply need to be faithful where you are. When you choose integrity in small moments, show genuine love to difficult people, and trust God through uncertain times, you're creating opportunities for others to see His goodness. Your influence extends beyond your immediate circle too. The way you raise your children, treat service workers, and respond to setbacks creates a legacy that can impact generations. Every act of faithfulness becomes a building block in someone else's spiritual journey. God has given you a unique platform and specific relationships for a reason. He wants to use your life as a testimony of His love and faithfulness.
Bible Verse
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. - Matthew 5:16
Reflection Question
Who in your life might be watching your faith journey, and how can you be more intentional about being a positive influence for God in their lives?
Quote
So I want you to ask yourself this morning, am I a good influence or a bad influence for God?
Prayer
Father, help me recognize the influence I have on others. Make me mindful of my words and actions, knowing that people are watching. Use my life to draw others closer to You. Show me opportunities to be a positive influence for Your kingdom. Amen.
